On Saturday, I had my culinary competition up in Portland. It was a lot of fun to finally apply and compete with the skills I had been working on. Everything went pretty smoothly with my team and our dishes. My dessert turned out very nicely with good textures on both the whipped cream and chocolate mousse. The photos (from top to bottom) are of me in my chef's get-up, the starter, the entree, and the dessert. Although we didn't win any awards, it was a great experience and I'm excited to see what kind of scores my team got from the judges.
